Chengdu Psychoanalytic Alliance (CPA) was established in 2007. During the past fifteen years, Chengdu became one of the earliest cities in China to develope psychoanalysis. Academic correspondence and cooperation with overseas psychoanalytic institutes are frequent and active. Professionals of CPA receive training strictly abiding by professional standards. CPA's core members are professionals who were systematically trained in the theories of psychoanalysis and have had personal analysis training as well as over five years in clinical practice.
“Professionally trained, clinical oriented, pragmatic and meticulous, striving for improvement” are the mottoes of CPA. CPA members adhere to international standards in clinical practice. In addition to multiple years of experience in clinical psychoanalysis, all CPA members have continued training by receiving training in individual analysis and clinical case supervision provided by professional experts overseas. Through a combination of real world lectures and online training programs, CPA members are well updated with knowledge from international academic institutes on psychoanalysis. At least six international psychoanalytic experts visit Chengdu each year, providing over thirty presentations and lectures, and over sixty hours of online educational discussions. Since 2007, CPA has made significant progresses in the international community. Various psychoanalytic organizations and institutes in America and France are in co-operation with CPA, and provide CPA members with more extensive, comprehensive academic and clinical support.
